====== Setting an authentication token ====== Authentication tokens can be set on devices where a user login is not required or is unnecessary. For example, a dash board display screen. It is not recommended to use Token Authentication for normal user access to the web services. It is good practice is also to not set a password for users that are used with Authentication tokens. Users without passwords will not be able to login using a password and only an authentication token will work. ===== Setting an authentication token ===== To set an authentication token you must first login as a user in the ''ADMIN'' group. {{ :automagic:ws:token-auth.png?300|}} On the device: - Login as normal. - Select ''Auth Token'' from the menu. - From the ''Authorise Terminal'' page. * Select the user to be authorised from user drop down box. * Set the type to ''User'' * enter **your** password in the password box and press ok. You will be logged out and the authorised user will be logged in.
