====== Storage ====== There are two types of storage: - Storing a unit load into a location. - Merging two unit loads together. ===== Step 1: Scan the unit load ===== Scan the unit load and press ''Ok'' ===== Step 2: Scan the destination ===== ==== Storing in a location ==== {{ :automagic:wms:storage-step-2.png?200|}} The default function will store a unit load into a location. Scan the destination location into the ''destination'' field and press ''Ok''. Put the unit load in to the destination location. ==== Merging a unitload ==== {{ :automagic:wms:merge-unit-load-step-2.png?200|}} Click on ''Merge Unit Load'' a the top of the screen. Scan the destination unit load in the ''destination'' field and press ''Ok''. Move all the goods from the source unit load to the destination unit load. The destination unit load will remain in its original location. ===== What should I do if I don't know where a unit load should be stored? ===== If you are unsure where the ''unit load'' is stored correctly, re-store the unit load in a new location using ''Storage''. It does not matter where the ''unit load'' is stored, so long as the software know where it is. ===== Why do I get "Storage not allowed" message? ===== There are many reasons why storage of a unit load is not allowed in a particular location. If the location looks empty, report this location to the warehouse foreman for investigation and store the unit load in a different location. Possible reasons when moving stock to a new location: - The ''rack'' is locked. - The ''location'' is locked. - The ''unit load'' is locked. - The ''location'' is full, the number of unit loads has reached the capacity of the location. - The ''location'' is assigned to a ''picking location''. - There is a ''phantom unit load'' on this location. It is not possible to mix ''phantom unit loads'' and normal ''unit loads'' in the same location. Possible reasons when moving stock from one unit load to another unit load: - The two ''unit loads'' contain different batches or best before dates.
