Sales picking order
and Internal picking orders
are picked using the same process.
The picking process is split in to 3 main parts.
Press the Ok
button to start the next pick list in the picking queue.
The next screen shows the details of the picking list. Click Start
to begin the pick.
The first picking screen displays the stock item to be picked and the locations where the stock is stored in the warehouse. To ensure proper stock rotation, the first location in the list should be used.
In this example we can see there are 57
items in the location D-05-A-01-C
To continue the pick you will need to scan any of:
unit load
number.location
Confirm the picking quantity and press Ok
. If the actual quantity is different from the required amount, the value should be changed and then press Ok
.
Repeat Next pick
When the picking list is finished, it must be stored into a goods out location.
Apply a new unit load label
to the pallet or box containing the goods and scan the unit load
number.
Select Action, Finish unit load
from the Next pick screen and follow the Storing the pick instructions.
Enter the actual quantity picked in the Next pick screen. The software will create another pick for the remaining amount and ask for another pick.
From the Next pick screen, select Action, Missing
.
From the Next pick screen, select Action, Skip
. The pick will pushed to the end of the picking list.
From the Next pick screen, select Action, Replenish
. A new replenish order will be created for the main picking location and the current stock item.
The software needs to know both:
Ideally the warehouse should be arranged so that a location or unit load only contains one item. However, this is not always possible. If a location
or unit load
contains two or more items, the software will ask for a second scan of the item. Two scans will be required in the following situations:
mixed unit load
will require an item scan.location
will require a unit load
scan if there is more than one unit load on the location.picking location
will require an items scan or a unit load
scan if there are multiple items assigned to the picking location.location
scan if it is stored in more than one location. See Picking check
A weighed or measured items is an item that is set to allow fractional quantities in the stock list. With fractional items, the WMS will allow the order picker to pick more than the ordered quantity by rounding up to a convenient quantity.
The default behaviour for factional items is to all the order picking to add up to 10% of the ordered quantity. for example if the ordered quantity is 50, the order picker can pick any quantity from 50-55.
For weighed or measured items that are sold in packages of a variable amount. For example:
1. A cheese product that is sold by weight, but is prepacked into block of between 1kg-1.5kg 1. Packing film that is sold by length in rolls of 100m-140m.
In these cases, if the outer quantity is set to the maximum packing size, the order picker will be allowed round up to the outer quantity.
