Stock take is always done by location. A location will contain one or more unit loads
and each unit load
will contain one or more stock items
.
Scan the location requiring a stock take. The list of locations that have pending stock takes is shown below the search box.
If there is no stock take order pending, a dialog will ask if you would like to create a new stock take order.
Scan the unit load that will be counted.
Enter the stock count. The batch number and best before date are optional fields that will only be present if the item is batch controlled.
Press Ok
and repeat Step 4 unit all the items on this unit load are scanned and counted.
From the screen in Step 3, click on U/L Complete
You will see

to complete the stock take.You will see a warning like this if you scan an item that cannot be stored in this location.
Usually this is because your are stock taking a picking location and the items scanned is not assigned to this location. You can continue to count this item, but the stock take order cannot be accepted as it is not possible to make this correction. Usually, misplaced items should be sent to a clearing location and later returned to stock.
For a complete stock take, empty locations need to be verified as empty. Often, unit loads
can be misplaced within the warehouse and only by checking all the empty locations can they be found.
Some business will be required to perform a stock take for audit purposes. In this case a stock take should be performed as required by the auditors.
The fasted location to stock take is an empty location.
For storage locations, stock take should be performed whenever the count is incorrect. It might be an operator has noticed some discrepancy or it might be a routine stock take. If you generally store multiple stocks in the same location, the most efficient time is when the location mostly empty, rather than full.
For picking locations, the best time to stock a take a picking location is just before a replenish. At that point the location will be nearly empty, making the stock take quick and more reliable. The subsequent replenishment will top-up the picking location to a known amount.
When a stock take is stared, the location is locked for stock taking. The location will remain locked until the stock take order is either accepted
or rejected
. This prevents operators from picking or otherwise altering the stock in the location while a stock take is in progress.
Yes, a free picking location (a picking location where we do not maintain a count of the stock) can be counted the same as any other location. Any stock adjustments will adjust the stock on hand
taking into account the about of stock in the checkout
and the stock that has been picked
. This calculation will be done automatically you do not need to take this into account when counting the stock.
A stock take is Accepted
if and only if the stock counts on the stock take exactly match the stock in the location at the time of acceptance.
When a stock take does not match the actual amount in that location either:
