Work orders
There are three types of work orders.
General
When is a work order considered complete?
This state is only applicable for Pick and Pack work orders,
When all the sales are complete, a work order will be marked as Complete
if there are remaining stock and it cannot be Reconciled
.
When is a work order reconciled?
A work order is reconciled when:
- All the pickling lists have been completed.
- All the sales have been invoiced or delivery noted.
- All the stocks on the work order have been used up. i.e. the stock on work order is zero.
Pick and Pack
Pick an pack work order are used for the Pick and Pack order fulfilment process. The all the stock picked on a consolidated pick list to be reconciled with the packing invoices.
How do I create a pick and pack work order?
- From the sales tracking list (Sales, Tracking
from the main menu) select sales that will become part of the work order.
- From the menu button on the toolbar, select Create work order
A consolidated pick list will be created and added to a new pick and pack work order.
What happens when I invoice the sales?
When the sales are invoiced from the pick and pack area. The work order stock is adjusted when each invoice is created.
When the last sale on the work order is invoiced, the work order will be checked, if all the stock is used up it will be marked as Reconciled
.
If there is stock remaining. the work order will be marked Complete
and will need to be reconciled manually.
Assembly
An assembly is a manufacturing process where a number of raw materials are manufactured into new stock items. Assemblies start from a Bill of Materials.
How do I create an assembly work order?
An assembly work order is created from the assemble routine for the Bill of Materials.
- From the stock list (
Stock, Stock List
), open the stock item that is the parent of a Bill of Materials. - Click
Assembly
and set the assembly quantity. - From the menu button, select
Create work order
This will create an internal pick list for the Bill of Materials and attach it to a new assembly work order.
Re-tour
A re-tour work order is the simplest type of work order. Stock leaves the warehouse and the same stock is returned at some future date.
How do I create a re-tour work order?
- Create an internal pick list
- Create a new work order by selecting
Sales, Work orders
from the main menu. Click the new button to create a re-tour work order. - Keep the work order edit tab open, and open the picklists by selecting
Sales, Picklists
from the main menu bar. - Before picking is started, drag the pick list row into the work order and drop it over the pick list table. This will attach the internal pick list to the work order.
The Picking list is now attached to the work order.
