Stock Take
Stock take is always done by location. A location will contain one or more unit loads
and each unit load
will contain one or more stock items
.
Why is it possible to stock take an empty location?
For a complete stock take, empty locations need to be verified as empty. Often, unit loads
can be misplaced within the warehouse and only by checking all the empty locations can they be found.

For storage locations, stock take should be performed whenever the count is incorrect. It might be an operator has noticed some discrepancy or it might be a routine stock take. If you generally store multiple stocks in the same location, the most efficient time is when the location mostly empty, rather than full.
For picking locations, the best time to stock a take a picking location is just before a replenish. At that point the location will be nearly empty, making the stock take quick and more reliable. The subsequent replenishment will top-up the picking location to a known amount.
Why can't I pick or replenish from a location?
When a stock take is stared, the location is locked for stock taking. The location will remain locked until the stock take order is either accepted
or rejected
. This prevents operators from picking or otherwise altering the stock in the location while a stock take is in progress.
Can I stock take a free picking location?
Yes, a free picking location (a picking location where we do not maintain a count of the stock) can be counted the same as any other location. Any stock adjustments will adjust the stock on hand
taking into account the about of stock in the checkout
and the stock that has been picked
. This calculation will be done automatically you do not need to take this into account when counting the stock.
What are Accepted, Rejected and Recount stock takes?
